As a student within the Integrated Production Team (IPT), you’ll play a key supporting role in the day-to-day operations of a dynamic manufacturing environment. Working closely with Production Coaches and the IPT Production Lead, you’ll gain hands-on experience in technical problem-solving, process improvement, and compliance with industry standards.

This opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a real-world setting, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop core skills in communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You’ll be involved in initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency, while learning how a high-performing production team operates within a regulated environment.

Organon is recruiting for a STEM student to join our Manufacturing Operations team by the beginning of August 2026 for 12 months for a student placement to join our world class manufacturing site in Cramlington, Northumberland.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide daily operational support to Production Coaches and the IPT Production Lead, contributing to targeted improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver technical expertise across all processes within the IPT to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Execute improvement projects as assigned by the IPT Production Lead, driving enhancements in performance and compliance.
  • Adhere to Global Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines, as well as regulatory requirements, by consistently applying current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in all activities.
  • Support investigations into safety incidents, atypical events, and customer complaints by identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to reduce rework and enhance process reliability.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives aimed at advancing Safety, Quality, Supply, and Cost performance.
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist with IPT-related projects and tasks as directed by Production Coaches or the IPT Production Lead.

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • Studying BSc (Hons) degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
  • You will be looking to complete a 12-month placement in your third or penultimate year of study, returning to your course at the end of the placement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively across teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven capability to quickly build and maintain productive working relationships.

Application Process Timeline Overview:

Stage 1 – Submission of CV and Cover Letter (by 31st October 2025)

 Candidates will be required to submit their CV and cover letter.

Stage 2 – Initial Informal Discussion (between 3rd November 17th November 2025)

Candidates will be selected and invited to take part in an initial informal discussion about the role, as well as an opportunity for you to find out about the company.

Stage 3 – Assessment Centre + Final Interview (Week commencing 24th November 2025)

Candidates successful at stage 2 will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre, located on site at Cramlington. Candidates will spend a day at the facility, getting a feel for Organon as well as taking part in several activities including a site tour and a final interview.
