Senior Test Engineer

Position Details:

• Lead the testing phase during the transfer of new custom designed ATE’s used for testing high power products from international locations. Support production test with troubleshooting to the component level, and resolving complex issues in both hardware and software test platforms. 
• Perform root cause analysis on production test failures, communicate finding, and lead corrective action efforts.
• Monitor and analyze test/product/yield performance, execute implementation schedules and product data management and report of test results to management or engineering teams.
• Assist in repairing and maintaining existing test systems in terms of functionality, reliability and performance.
• Support MSA studies, gauge R&R studies, bias testing, and design of experiments as needed to support test stand duplication and new product introduction activities.
• Train test operators on use of equipment, suggest improvements to test instructions or equipment performance.
• Problem solving expert using tools such as Fault tree, KT, Fish Bone, PFMEA, etc. with the ability to summarize issues into clear, concise impact and recommendations.
• Create and procure tools, cable assemblies, instruments and fixtures for test.
• Responsible for setup and maintenance of test equipment and fixtures, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly.
• Communicate effectively, in both oral and written form, critical technical information regarding test software, system design and performance.

Requirements:

• BS (IE/ME/EE) with 5+ years’ experience in low to medium volume manufacturing environments.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate effectively with international counterparts on a regular basis
• Statistical analysis, Gauge R & R, and Correlation analysis experience.
• Experience with custom automated test system design, electrical design, and/or software development is preferred.
• Interface with Engineers (Test, Manufacturing & Design) and other cross-functional teams on yield issues and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment (DMM, oscilloscopes, poer supplies, DAQ devices, etc.) is required.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Capable to effectively prioritize work tasks based on production schedules, product criticality, and resource availability. Handle multiple testing related projects simultaneously.
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems (AC/DC, analog/digital circuits) and system wiring is required. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as RS232, TCP/IP, CAN and EtherCAT.
• Familiarity with revision control (Perforce, Agile) and bug-tracking (Jira).

Other Information:

• 10-25% domestic & international travel may be required
