Description

 We are an Aviation company in Medley, FL seeking a talented and creative 3D Designer Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in 3D modeling design, engineering principle with proficiency in various design software tools. This role requires the ability to create detailed 3D models and visualizations. This role involves collaborating with engineers and an understanding of engineering concepts to produce high-quality designs that meet project specifications. 

1. 3d Modeling And Design:

  • Use CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Fusion) to design and develop 3D models for products or parts.

2. Prototyping And Testing:

  • Work with 3D printers to produce physical models of designs.
  • Test prototypes for form, fit, and function, and make design adjustments based on testing feedback.

3. Collaboration:

  • Work closely with team to ensure the design meets technical, aesthetic, and cost goals.
  • Communicate design concepts and changes clearly, both written and verbally.

4. Design Optimization:

  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, ensuring they can be easily and cost-effectively produced using 3D printing, CNC machining, or traditional manufacturing methods.
  • Adjust designs for material efficiency, strength, and functionality based on testing and performance data.

5. Product Lifecycle Management:

  • Ensure designs align with product lifecycle requirements, from initial concept through prototyping, testing, and final production.
  • Revise and refine designs as needed based on project feedback or changes in materials, technology, or customer needs.

6. Documentation And Reporting:

  • Create and maintain design documentation, including design notes, 3D model files, and revision histories.
  • Produce reports on design progress, challenges, and solutions to communicate with management.

7. Software And Tools Management:

  • Stay current with new tools and technologies in the CAD and 3D printing space.
  • Troubleshoot design and printing issues, ensuring smooth integration of design files into manufacturing or prototyping systems.

8. Quality Standards:

  • Ensure that designs adhere to quality standards and company requirements.
  • Perform regular reviews of design processes and final outputs for consistency and accuracy.
  • Ensure design meet functional requirements and align with the specifications.
  • Create detailed drawings and technical specifications as instructed for manufacturing or prototype.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
  • Participate in design meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on technical expertise.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in CAD software ( SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of 3D modeling techniques and principles.
  • Experience in creating schematics and detailed construction documents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on quality assurance.
  • Some experience with CAM software preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for design challenges and optimization and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.

Expected hours: 40 per week
