Position Description:
As a member of FlexGen's Cybersecurity team, the Network Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure that supports and protects FlexGen's corporate network and its broader cloud infrastructure. This position will work closely with Compliance, DevOps, and IT teams to ensure secure and reliable connectivity between devices and systems, both on-site and in cloud environments. FlexGen maintains a Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) architecture, and this role will be instrumental in advancing and maturing its capabilities.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure to support and protect FlexGen's corporate and cloud environments
- Advance and mature FlexGen's Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) architecture, ensuring secure connectivity for users and systems
- Serve as the networking subject matter expert for teams involved in the secure and reliable integration of devices, software, and cloud infrastructure
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP) and related networking components
- Implement and manage VPN solutions (IPsec site-to-site, SSL VPN) for secure remote access and site connectivity
- Create and maintain detailed network diagrams to document infrastructure design and changes
- Serve as the escalation point for networking related incidents and outages, troubleshooting and documenting events as they arise
- Ensure the compliance of FlexGen's network infrastructure with cybersecurity best practices and contribute to policy development and implementation
- Technologies you should know:
- Fortinet product suite (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP)
- ZTNA platforms (Cato Networks, Zscaler)
- Cloud networking and security fundamentals (Azure, AWS)
- VPN technologies (IPsec site-to-site, SSL VPN)
- Access Control Lists (ACLs), Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRFs), and VLANs
- Linux operating systems and command line interface (CLI)
- Penetration testing tools (e.g., Kali Linux)
- Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, ping, traceroute)
Position Requirements:
- CCNA certification or equivalent hands-on network engineering experience
- Two-year degree in IT, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting
- Experience creating detailed network diagrams
- Proficiency in direct CLI configuration of network devices
- Background implementing cybersecurity best practices on network infrastructure
- Familiarity with ZTNA concepts and architecture
- Capability to investigate and resolve network connectivity issues and security incidents
- On-call availability, primary contact for networking, sometimes during off-hours
