Niyam is seeking a motivated Technical Talent Acquisition Manager to join our team. We offer competitive compensation and benefits. Position is hybrid, and will require 2-3 days onsite to our Fairfax, VA office.  

Role And Responsibilities

The Technical Talent Acquisition Manager will be responsible for attracting, sourcing, screening and hiring technical IT talent.  This position requires understanding of technical recruitment and government contracting.  This position must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with candidates for current and future needs. This person must have a excellent understanding of HR systems and recruitment systems.

  • Manage the recruitment process, from sourcing and screening candidates to facilitating interviews with hiring managers and hiring processes.
  • Lead recruitment staff and guide them to success.
  • Use your understanding of data science, analytics, GIS analytics and applications, infrastructure and cloud engineering, DevSecOps, Software Development, and AI to effectively identify and assess candidates with the required technical skills and cultural fit.
  • Actively promote the company to candidates in a positive manner by communicating NiyamIT’s capabilities and sharing our culture in an encouraging and optimistic way.  
  • Develop connections with passive candidates to develop pipelines of qualified candidates.
  • Create and use innovative sourcing and recruitment strategies using various platforms such as LinkedIn and other specialized job boards to source candidates to include Boolean searches, etc.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, position and technical requirements, and ensure accurately completed requisitions.
  • Conduct initial screening calls, technical assessments, and behavioral interviews to shortlist candidates before scheduling with hiring managers.
  • Promote and implement diversity hiring initiatives to ensure a diverse pool of candidates in all recruitment efforts.
  • Manage multiple job openings at a time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage positive engagement with candidates by providing timely feedback, clear communication, and maintaining a professional yet approachable demeanor.
  • Properly document all candidates’ dispositions and responses in applicant tracking system.
  • Effectively communicate with applicants in various formats such as verbal, teams chat, texting, email, etc.
  • Manage Affirmative Action recruitment requirements and ensure documentation is appropriately maintained.

Other Essential Skills Include:

  • Self-sufficient and able to work with little direct supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking and HRIS systems (currently Bamboo HR)
  • Knowledge and ability to maintain diversity needs and ensure there is no adverse impact
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations
  • Technical IT knowledge
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Must be available to work during Eastern Standard hours.
  • Must be flexible to work during candidates’ time zones.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of technical recruiting experience and leadership role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite.
  • Understanding of technical knowledge regarding data science, analytics, GIS analytics and applications, infrastructure and cloud engineering, DevSecOps, Software Development, and AI.
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing and placing technical talent through various channels (e.g., social media, job boards, direct outreach).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with both candidates and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter and candidate management platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to anticipate and resolve candidate and hiring manager challenges.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
