The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.

Your new responsibilities

• Lead optical steering activities (Color and Brightness performance) to ensure product performance meets target, customer and business requirements.
• Responsible for optical yield analysis and improvement, including optical maverick lot disposition, by working closely with cross functional team.
• Perform analysis, maintain and optimize the Product Steering Table to improve yield prediction, enabling accurate chip & phosphor material planning and efficient production loading plan for on-time customer delivery.
• Define chip brightness and wavelength ranges to meet customer demands while optimize taping yield and steering to reduce complexity.
• Maintain and adapt phosphor conversion recipes (in MixzApp system) according to chip input & customer binnings. Collaborate with casting and spray coating process engineers to ensure strong process control & consistent optical performance. 
• Responsible for new batch layer, platelets, and phosphor material phase in to achieve delivery, performance, cost and quality target
• Work with chip change engineering team on chip sorting spec optimization / resolve mismatch. Provide technical assessments related to chip salvaging, quality, and performance.
• Responsible for Finished Good risk inventory reduction (dormant/fallout) effort from steering perspective.
• Customer samples and Corner samples assessment, delivery and support.

What we look for

• Bachelor degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
• Strong systematic problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Proven leadership ability to drive team to achieving results.
• Excellent communication, fluency in English and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to set priorities and initiatives, and adapt quickly. Highly motivated, results oriented, and dynamic. Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• 3-5 years of working experience in LED steering/product engineering, or LED product characterization.
• Demonstrated experience leading improvement project with cross-functional teams.
