- About the Role
We’re looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Junior HR Business Partner (or Senior HR Advisor ready for their next step) to join our Melbourne People and Culture team.
Working closely with the Head of HR and other state HRBPs, you’ll support leaders across the business to deliver a high-performance culture. From employee relations and compliance through to engagement and lifecycle management, you’ll be a trusted advisor with real impact on how we grow and scale. Your stakeholder management skills will be key – you'll have the ability to challenge, influence, and empower leaders across the organization, helping them navigate employee performance and mitigate risks with confidence.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment — perfect for someone who thrives on variety, ownership, and supporting both blue and white-collar teams.
Requirements
What You’ll Be Doing
- Performance Management: Coach leaders and provide expert advice to navigate performance challenges with clarity and empathy.
- Employee Relations: Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and fairly.
- Compliance & Risk: Ensure policies, contracts, and processes align with legislation and best practice.
- Employee Lifecycle: Oversee onboarding, contracts, salary reviews, and offboarding — delivering a smooth journey at every stage.
- Recruitment Support: Play an active role in blue collar and head office role hire and recruitment, ensuring we bring on the right talent to meet business needs.
- HR Administration: Keep the People & Culture function running seamlessly with timely and accurate admin support.
- Engagement & Culture: Drive initiatives such as surveys, check-ins, anniversaries, and engagement campaigns to strengthen connection and culture.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years’ experience in HR generalist, advisory, or business partner roles.
- Strong background in employee relations and performance management.
- Solid understanding of compliance, workplace legislation, and best practices.
- Experience across the full HR lifecycle.
- Hands-on exposure to recruitment and blue-collar workforce management (desirable).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills — able to influence and coach with confidence.
- HRIS/admin savvy, with a detail-oriented approach and proactive mindset.
