Junior DevOps Engineer (f/m/d)

Your Area Of Work:

We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer with a keen interest in Middleware and Message Broker technologies. As part of our international team, you'll help maintain and enhance our large-scale OpenShift and Kafka clusters, deployed across on-premise infrastructure, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. You'll also have the opportunity to learn and contribute to the management of our Camunda platform, supporting its stability, scalability, and seamless integration within our ecosystem. This role offers a dynamic environment to grow your DevOps skills while collaborating with experienced engineers across borders.

Your Responsibilities:

• Setup and maintenance of High available Kafka clusters for all the different environments (from development to production) – running on OpenShift Clusters on-premise as well as in the Cloud (Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure)
• Design, development, test and implement Kafka as a Service offering to support the different development team
• Design/documentation/knowledge transfer on GitOps operating models for the Kafka and Openshift infrastructure
• Support and investigation of Kafka and Openshift infrastructure/security/application setup issues in all environments (dev/test/prod)
• Support Kafka and Openshift platform upgrades
• Design/development/deployment of automated solutions on the Kubernetes/OpenShift platform
• Participate in production on-call rota (approx. 1x week/month)

Your Profile:

• You have successfully completed your university degree in computer science or have relevant work experience related to IT container technology
• Minimum 2y of work experience in IT development or IT system administration
• Linux/ Bash scripting, Basic Network background, SSL/TLS certificate management, Git
• At least one Cloud provider (Azure, GCP) background
• You have administrative experience with Kafka message broker
• You understand or have direct experience with Kubernetes cluster (Helm, ArgoCD, Tekton are a big plus)
• Basic Java knowledge to read and understand the code
• Independent work method, high commitment to delivery, high self-responsibility & ownership, communication and analytical capabilities
• Willingness to learn, open for new technologies and new IT trends
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
