Job Description
This role has two key functions: Talent management and Bursary management.
Talent Management:
- Accountable for defining and driving a clear strategic talent agenda aligned to business priorities.
- Designs and implements innovative content and programmes to attract, engage, and develop top graduate talent
- Lead initiatives that strengthen employer brand, enhance workforce readiness, and build future leadership pipelines
- Champion the adoption of new practices and leverages insights from data to improve workforce planning, retention, and talent effectiveness
- Ensures firm objectives feed through to engagements and upskilling initiatives
- Develops and implements Audit Graduate Recruitment initiatives that link to the firm strategy and ensure team evolvement to future fit
- Collaborates with internal teams to identify networking initiatives
- Drives wider collaboration with internal teams to create programmes that upskill graduates to be ready for the world of work
- Takes ownership and responsibility for the identification of top talent in audit graduates which includes review of psychometric assessment components and making these more technologically pronounced and efficient
- Creates and drives a presence with CA students to drive a strong brand awareness as well as a connection between the student and the firm
- Gather, collate, and report on Trainee data to highlight trends and areas of opportunity for future intervention
Bursary Management:
- Provide strategic oversight of the national bursary portfolio, including allocation and management of significant funding
- Formulate high-level decisions on funding distribution, student support, and alignment of bursary investment with long-term workforce capability needs
- Ensure strong governance, reporting, and measurable impact from bursary investments.
- Design, drive and manage the strategy and process
- Review suspensive criteria and standards of bursary award based on competitor activity, best-practice and Deloitte firm objectives
- Monitor bursary applications, contract activity and regional coordination on administration and student liaisons
- Decide on awarding bursaries based on an allocated budget on an annual basis with forecasting required for rollover candidates
- Accurate and clean data reports on ROI and throughput rates.
- Bursary targets aligned to firm equity targets and pipelines managed to meet future targets.
- Understanding of external bursary market: Sourcing co-funding partnerships to supplement bursary funding for both South African and Namibian pipeline, this includes private and institution funding/donors
- Gather clear and comprehensive understanding of the strategy and operations of Deloitte, the regions as well as the business units
- Manage Bursary Consultant portfolios and strategic directions
- Build and maintain relationships with key NPO and funders with the aim of creating access to a wider pool of funded students
Reporting:
- Take responsibility for the reporting of the Talent Projects aligned to Audit Graduate Recruitment strategy (monthly)
- Deliver on a Return-on-Investment report showing the degree of effectiveness of activations and events
- Report on bursary funding allocations and remaining funds, ROI of these awards given and success of students awarded funding
Communication & Strategic Relationship Management:
- Play an active role in the Audit Graduate Recruitment Communication Strategy, including but not limited to:
- Responsible for all Talent project communication, this includes but not limited project briefing, communication plans and post project feedback, to Audit Graduate Recruitment, project teams, brand ambassadors, and stakeholders
- Responsible for flow of push and pull communication of Audit Graduate Recruitment Talent projects
- Visible identification with stakeholders (students; university and internal Deloitte stakeholders)

- External Stakeholders
- Ensures a healthy flow of continual communication to stakeholders, highlighting both firm and Audit Graduate Recruitment news
- Candidates (Signed and Unsigned)
- Talent initiative broadcasting
- Audit and Assurance Talent attraction reporting
- Stakeholder engagement at all levels both internally and externally
- Establish a trusted Business Partner relationship with key decision makers aligned to role and deliverables
- Identify, establish, and maintain a trusted business relationship with strategic external stakeholders aligned to role and deliverables
- Build and maintain solid and lasting relationships which is focused on creating engagement with the firm
- Establishes strong relationships with student chapters and student bodies to access talent pools
Qualifications
- Tertiary degree in the relevant field
- Master's Degree, industrial psychology/ CA(SA) is desired
Minimum Experience:
- 5-8 years' experience in Talent Management and Talent Acquisition
- Previous Audit Graduate Recruitment experience and exposure to bursary management is advantageous
