Position Summary and Responsibilities

Working remotely from your home office, the Assistant Director of Student Accountability supports the successful implementation of all testing and accountability processes at Arkansas Connections Academy. This 10-month position plays a critical role in supporting the Director of Student Accountability by coordinating tasks, maintaining compliance processes, and ensuring accurate and timely execution of state and internal testing programs.

The Assistant will help manage day-to-day operations related to testing and data reporting, serve as a point of contact for staff and families regarding testing logistics, and ensure smooth communication between school teams, state partners, and leadership. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Director of Student Accountability in managing and coordinating all standardized testing (ATLAS, ELPA, DLM, AP, ACT/Workkeys/ASVAB, ).
  • Plan, organize, and execute assessment coordination for the school, including scheduling, rosters, site logistics, and staff/student accommodations.
  • Receive, inventory, organize, and distribute testing materials; prepare, ship, or return materials to state agencies as needed.
  • Coordinate with Pearson Virtual Schools to order needed technology, distribute to sites, and monitor usage.
  • Support Director of Student Accountability in developing an assessment communication plan, including parent notifications, registration tracking, participation follow-up, and addressing refusal requests.
  • Facilitate communication with site leads, proctors, and parents through meetings and updates.
  • Provide school-wide and role-specific training on state testing procedures and
  • Support staff and families with questions regarding testing processes, schedules, and requirements.
  • Monitor testing participation rates and implement strategies to ensure compliance with state thresholds.
  • Support the Director of Student Accountability to prepare reports and assist with submission of required testing and accountability data to the Arkansas Department of Education, authorizers, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with state reporting, audits, and charter authorization reports; support preparation for school audits.
  • Assist and review SIS data for inconsistencies, troubleshoot, and implement corrections and preventative processes as needed.
  • Collaborate with Pearson Virtual School staff, school leadership, and data personnel to ensure timely, accurate, and complete reporting.
  • Assist with preparation and dissemination of performance and accountability reports to support data-driven decision making.
  • Collaborate with leadership to update policy guides, testing procedures, and handbooks annually.
  • Stay current on state policies, procedures, and legislation impacting testing and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field preferred
  • Arkansas Teaching License required
  • 3-5 years of experience in K–12 education or a related field
  • Prior experience supporting testing or accountability systems
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships with staff, families, and state partners
  • Comfortable working in a virtual school environment and using technology for communication and data management
  • Willingness and ability to travel for school-related events and testing (may include overnight travel)
  • Ability to work some evening hours to support staff, families, and students as needed
  • Ability to work full-time, remotely from a home office
  • Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication.
