The Sr Manager, In-Market Global Sales is part of the Global Sales team within the Commercial Divisions. You will drive revenue growth and customer engagement by developing and executing strategic sales initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional partners. This role works with a diverse customer base—from small businesses to global corporations—delivering tailored travel solutions in a fast-paced, evolving environment that values innovation, adaptability, and professional development.

Salary Range: $157,000.00- $170,000.00

What You'Ll Do

•    Serve as the strategic market authority for American Airlines within the designated region, providing deep insights on competitive dynamics, customer behavior, and emerging trends to shape sales strategies and enhance market positioning
•    Lead the identification and development of high-impact business opportunities, utilizing data-driven analysis to proactively expand American Airlines’ footprint within priority markets, enterprise accounts, and key industry verticals
•    Act as a senior representative of American Airlines, holding leadership positions in prominent local and national travel and business associations to influence policy, build brand advocacy, and strengthen commercial partnerships
•    Cultivate and expand executive-level relationships with influential business leaders, C-suite stakeholders, and key decision-makers to drive long-term revenue growth and strategic alignment
•    Drive regional sales strategy execution by collaborating cross-functionally with national and global sales leaders to refine account planning, pipeline development, and lead qualification practices that accelerate sales velocity
•    Champion customer engagement initiatives by leading targeted end-traveler outreach campaigns—including event activations, loyalty promotions, and field engagements—to deepen customer loyalty and elevate the traveler experience
•    Oversee the lead qualification process, ensuring prompt and effective follow-up on inbound opportunities from Global Marketing and other channels, and converting them into high-potential sales engagements
•    Forge strong partnerships with internal stakeholders such as Airport Operations, Premium Guest Services, Government Affairs, and Community Relations to ensure an integrated and cohesive market approach
•    Align regional efforts with global marketing initiatives, ensuring messaging, content strategies, and campaign execution are tailored to local market dynamics while supporting enterprise-wide sales objectives

  • Must be willing to work/travel in NYC Metropolitian area

All You'Ll Need For Success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • •    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • •    7 years of sales experience in the airline or travel industry, with at least 2 years of leadership experience
  • •    Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • •    Strong knowledge of sales principles, practices, and techniques

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • •    Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • •    8+ years of sales experience in the airline or travel industry, with at least 4 years of leadership experience
  • •    Experience working with global customers and markets
  • •    Strong knowledge of airline operations, revenue management, and marketing principles

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • •    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • •    Experience with sales software and CRM systems, such as Salesforce.com
  • •    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze sales data and market trends
  • •    Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • •    Ability to work in a dynamic and ever-changing environment, with adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing customer needs and market conditions
