Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Management Company Reporting team. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, excellent knowledge of GAAP, and experience preparing consolidated financial statements for a corporate entity. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial reporting at the corporate level, supporting both management decision-making and external stakeholder requirements. The Senior Accountant will also gain exposure to senior leadership and collaborate cross-functionally with multiple teams.

This role is based in Austin, TX and is for an immediate start.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
    • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules across multiple reporting levels.
    • Present quarterly and annual results to leadership and assist in financial analysis for executive review.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
    • Draft and coordinate annual financial statements, including disclosures and footnotes.
    • Support external audit processes by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.
  • Technical Accounting & Policy
    • Research and interpret new accounting standards, ensuring appropriate implementation.
    • Draft accounting policies, technical accounting memos, and provide guidance on corporate accounting issues.
  • Internal Controls & Process Improvement
    • Maintain and enhance internal control procedures over financial reporting.
    • Evaluate accounting processes to ensure best practices and strong risk management.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and improve efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate governance standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with FP&A, General Partner, and Tax teams to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
    • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects for leadership.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in financial reporting or corporate accounting.
    • Big 4 or top-tier public accounting firm background highly desirable.
    • Experience in alternative asset management and management company accounting preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of US GAAP reporting requirements and industry accounting practices.
    • Knowledge of partnership accounting and income allocations preferred.
    • Experience with consolidations of large number of entities a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in accounting and analytical software tools with ability to implement and adapt to new software tools.
  • Experience utilizing generative AI tools is a plus.
