About The Team

We work within the IC to understand their requirements, shape their concepts of operation, and deliver exquisite capability across their problem set. About The Job
We are looking for an experienced Mission Software Engineer and Technical Leader to join our rapidly growing team in Reston, Virginia. You will be a part of a group amazingly talented people focused on delivering mission outcomes through technology. You will help lead the delivery of high stakes, high profile, complex customer programs while strengthening our engineering and program-specific capabilities across the business line. We are looking for someone who has experience designing → building → and delivering complex customer programs, focusing on autonomous vehicles, requiring both technical knowledge and leadership skills to set objectives, build teams, and drive projects to completion. The ideal candidate will leverage their experience to deliver highly complex, optimized, multi-disciplinary products and programs within the autonomous vehicle (AV) and AV payload technology area. Payloads could include EW systems, kinetic and non-kinetic effectors, navigation systems, command and control architectures, optical sensors, propulsion systems and others. Significant prior experience with these types of projects is strongly preferred.
What You'Ll Do
We are hiring a Mission Software Engineer to lead the design and build of digital engineering infrastructure and environments for heterogeneous unmanned systems. You will:
- Help set the strategic vision for part of Anduril’s simulation, test, training, and deployment environments for unmanned systems and their payloads.
- Build and integrate model-, software-, and hardware-in-the-loop components by leveraging first and third party technologies related to simulation, data management, compute infrastructure, networking, and more.
- Manage the various needs of both internal and external stakeholders to build and integrate tooling suites which evaluate autonomy and vehicle performance across a diverse range of conditions and reference missions.
- Collaborate with internal team members and external partners in the autonomy domain to build technologies and processes which enable users to safely and rapidly develop and deploy autonomous systems at scale.
- Travel up to 25% of time to test and deploy capabilities at Anduril test ranges and customer-directed sites.
- Work full time, on-site with fellow Anduril team members.
Required Qualifications
- Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Top Secret clearance.
- Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
- 7+ years working with a variety of programming languages such as C++, Rust, Go, etc.
- High ownership and autonomy across the end-to-end lifecycle of software development.
- Experience executing UAS programs including, but not limited to
- Experience with customer-oriented UI/UX development.
- Experience leading small teams of cross functional engineers to design, build, and deploy software systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Radar or EW System.
- Experience implementing robot or autonomous vehicle testing frameworks in a software-in-the-loop or hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) environment.
- Experience designing complex software systems, and iterating upon designs via a technical design review process.
- Familiarity with industry standard monitoring, logging, and data management tools and best practices.
- A bias towards rapid delivery and iteration.
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
