Role Summary:
We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with expertise in full-stack software development and practical experience using modern tools, including AI-assisted coding environments. Specifically, we are looking for an SME who has experience working in a Fortune 100 organization as a hiring manager of entry-level engineers.
The SME will contribute to the development and review of learning content, projects, and assessments for a full-stack curriculum designed for entry-level developers with no prior experience in this field, to prepare them for roles in large enterprises where they will be working in tandem with AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise in full-stack development.
- Collaborate with Springboard’s Learning Experience team and other SME(s) to put together a full-stack course for beginners, which will be used as a recruitment pipeline tool inside a Fortune 100 organization
- Curate/create, review, and validate learning materials, instructional content, hands-on exercises, and assessments for accuracy and industry relevance, keeping in mind the must-have skills and attributes an entry-level engineer must possess
- Design or review projects that reflect real-world workflows, especially those incorporating APIs, databases, and version control systems.
- Support the integration of AI tooling, such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and LLM-based prompting, into the curriculum.
- Ensure curriculum alignment with junior developer roles and evolving best practices in software engineering.
- Collaborate with Instructional Designers to refine learning objectives and project briefs.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a software engineer or full-stack developer.
- Currently a hiring manager of junior/entry-level software engineers inside of a Fortune 100 organization; able to speak to the must-have versus nice-to-have skills and attributes a hiring manager might be looking for.
- Experience working with AI-enhanced development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, OpenAI APIs).
- Strong understanding of software development workflows, debugging, and testing practices.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in curriculum development or technical instruction.
- Understanding of learning experience design principles or learner-centered approaches.
Pay: $50 an hour, pending location and experience
