Management Accountant

Green & Fortune has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our growing business. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to become part of our dedicated accounts department, supporting the financial operations across our five venues.

You’ll work closely with our finance team and operational managers, so strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships are essential.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys problem solving, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Our main office is based at Kings Place, King’s Cross, N1, London, with easy transport links to our four other central London venues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of financial reporting, including Management Accounts, Balance Sheet, and cash flow monitoring.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Review and analyse budget variances, challenging assumptions where appropriate and supporting operational managers to understand and manage their costs effectively
  • Support preparation of forecasts, budgets, and ad-hoc reports to support business planning.
  • Support the Head of Finance with ad hoc queries and financial requests, providing clear and timely information.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including VAT, payroll, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems, bringing practical solutions to the table.
  • Manage, mentor, and support a small finance team of three, delegating tasks effectively and promoting professional development.

Role Requirements

  • Solid experience in management accounting, ideally within the hospitality, catering, or food service sector.
  • Experience in team management or leadership, ideally supervising small teams.
  • Strong financial reporting skills.
  • Comfortable with various systems; tech-savvy and confident with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, analysis), able to drive system improvements
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, combined with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills – able to explain numbers to non-finance colleagues clearly.
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a small, collaborative team.
