Headquartered in Downtown Houston, the Golden Pass LNG organization expects to double in size over the next several years as we complete the project, commence natural gas trading activities, and ramp up towards full LNG production. Once full operations commence, Golden Pass LNG will become the second largest consumer of natural gas in the US and produce more than 200 cargos of LNG per annum.

Job Summary / Purpose

The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the full spectrum of Human Resources functions, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and HR administration. This position partners with managers and employees to foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring HR policies and processes are effectively implemented. The HR Generalist will also serve as a trusted resource for employees, providing guidance and support across various HR topics.


Essential Duties / Functions

  1.  Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, reference checks, and offers.
  2. Lead the onboarding process for new hires to ensure smooth integration into the organization, including orientation sessions and completion of required documentation.
  3. Provide day-to-day support to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and practices.
  4. Administer HR programs such as benefits, leave management, performance management, and employee records.
  5. Conduct reference, background checks and drug screenings on selected candidates
  6. Manage the candidate's experience and ensure a positive impression of the company regardless of the outcome.
  7. Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities, candidate information, and job postings.
  8. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain accurate HR documentation.
  9. Stay up-to-date with recruitment best practices and legal requirements.
  10. Partner with leaders to address employee relations issues and provide guidance on performance improvement, coaching, and disciplinary processes.
  11. Maintain and update HR systems and employee files, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of records.
  12. First point of contact for employee questions regarding policies and resources
  13. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  14. Assist in the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive work environment.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • SHRM PHR certification preferred

Minimum experience required of the position

  • 5+ years in an HR role of similar responsibility, Recruitment, or Employee Relations experience

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position.

  • Hands-on experience with Human Resources information Systems (HRIS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to model core values as a representative of the company
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Good with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) or related software
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment
  • Work in a face-paced environment with evolving business demands and multiple priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and materials in a confidential manner .

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position.

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred but not required.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment with some travel to the Golden Pass LNG Houston office required

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
