Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
The Senior Vice President of Awards Strategy & Integrated Communications will lead the strategic vision, execution, and innovation behind awards campaigns and high-impact initiatives across premium scripted and unscripted entertainment for Bravo, NBC, Peacock and Universal Studio Group. This executive will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive awards strategies that elevate the studio’s content, talent, and brand visibility within the industry and among key voting bodies. The SVP will lead high-impact multi-title projects, including media events and developing and executing cross-platform storytelling initiatives. The role requires crafting compelling narratives that resonate with industry stakeholders, talent, and audiences, while aligning with broader marketing and publicity goals.

Awards Strategy & Campaign Leadership:

- Develop and oversee awards campaigns for Emmy®, Golden Globe®, Guild Awards, and other major industry honors
- Ensure compliance with Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, HFPA, and Guild rules and regulations
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver compelling campaigns that drive nominations and wins
- Coordinate closely with studios and independent production companies to streamline awards strategies across the portfolio
- Maintain visibility into all unscripted submissions—ensuring clarity on what each production company is submitting—and proactively encourage independent handling of submissions for non-priority series to optimize internal resources and focus
- Maintain awareness of international awards programs and ensure strategic alignment where applicable
- Partner closely with marketing, publicity, creative, executive leadership, and external agencies to align on goals and execution
- Keep relevant documents and trackers organized and up to date and manage the overall awards budget
- Exercise excellent communication and alignment with NBCUniversal’s Awards Submissions Agency to ensure all necessary materials are collected and submission deadlines are met
- Design and execute innovative press strategies that blend earned, paid, and influencer engagement
- Oversee strategic media buying and integrated press planning to reach targeted voter and media audiences
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to amplify campaign messaging across platforms
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with talent, representatives, guilds, and key industry stakeholders
- Manage talent participation in press events, screenings, panels, and campaign activations
- Leverage earned influencer engagement to organically extend campaign reach
- Effectively communicate awards strategy to key stakeholders, including talent, talent representatives, and creative partners
- Serve as a strategic and enthusiastic liaison to producers, articulating campaign goals with clarity and confident to foster alignment, engagement, and buy-in
- Lead the strategy for high-profile media events, screenings, and activations tied to multi-title press activations and/or tied to awards campaigns
- Collaborate with experiential marketing, events, and production teams to deliver high-impact, immersive experiences tied to awards campaigns or brand milestones
- Ensure events and activations are strategically aligned with content launches, awards windows, and cultural moments, campaign goals, and voter engagement
- Manage a high-performing team of awards strategists, publicists, and project leads
- Partner closely with marketing, publicity, creative, and executive leadership to align on goals and execution
- Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on awards positioning and industry trends
Integrated Communications & Brand Storytelling:

- Lead the creation of compelling brand narratives that elevate the studio and platform’s identity across scripted and unscripted content, especially leaning into creative content slates and the marketing campaigns/brand activations
- Collaborate with creative, marketing, and executive teams to ensure storytelling aligns with brand values and long-term positioning
- Develop messaging frameworks that resonate with industry stakeholders, talent, and audiences
- Spearhead special projects that integrate storytelling across broadcast, cable, streaming, and digital platforms
- Identify and execute opportunities to showcase brand innovation through immersive content experiences, short-form storytelling, and branded editorial features
- Partner with internal content teams to amplify behind-the-scenes stories, creator journeys, and cultural impact narratives
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with external brands, influencers, and platforms to extend storytelling reach
- Oversee co-branded initiatives that reinforce the studio’s creative identity and drive engagement across key demographics
- Manage relationship-building with cultural tastemakers and media partners to amplify brand storytelling
- Define success metrics for brand storytelling initiatives and special projects
- Track and analyze campaign performance, audience engagement, and media impact
- Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on strategic outcomes and opportunities for optimization
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in awards strategy, entertainment publicity, and/or communications
- Strong network within the entertainment industry, including media, talent, agencies, and cultural institutions
- Familiarity with the evolving media landscape, including digital storytelling, branded content, and experiential marketing
- Experience working with high-profile talent and navigating sensitive brand narratives
- Deep understanding of awards rules and regulations (Emmys, Golden Globes, Guilds)
- Proven track record of securing major nominations and wins across multiple platforms
- Expertise in media buying, press planning, and influencer engagement
- Strong relationships with industry press, guilds, talent, and awards organizations

- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
