KHOU 11 is seeking a detail-oriented, part-time Election Coordinator to support our newsroom in planning and executing election coverage. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, timely, and comprehensive election results are presented to our audience across broadcast, digital, and social platforms. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, a passion for politics and news, and thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the setup of election coverage, including organizing and maintaining race data, candidate lists, and ballot initiatives.
• Work with editorial, digital, and technical teams to ensure election data outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned across platforms.
• Serve as the central liaison between producers, reporters, digital editors, and technical staff during election cycles.
• Troubleshoot issues with election data feeds and outputs in coordination with vendor partners and internal teams.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of results displayed on-air and online.
• Provide updates and support as needed throughout election night and during early voting periods.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a newsroom, election operations, data management, or related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy under deadline pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
