The Team

The Data Cloud Acceleration is a fast-moving group of business-savvy technologists who ship practical solutions quickly, measure impact, and iterate. This team pairs deep data expertise with sharp business judgment so we can turn ideas into deployable outcomes in days or weeks—not months.

The Role

This role is accountable for the end-to-end data and insight pipeline that powers the Data Cloud Acceleration team and partners across Zeta's business units, including:

  • Data onboarding (partner/client feeds, contracts-to-pipeline handoff, SLAs)
  • Derivative data generation (features, aggregates, panels, modeled attributes)
  • Standard interfaces & normalization (schemas, contracts, documentation)
  • Dashboards & reporting (executive, operational, client-facing)
  • Intelligence/BI services & applications (self-serve and embedded analytics)
  • Audience creation & activation (segments, eligibility rules, governance)

What You’Ll Do

  • Lead and organize analytics & BI. Build and mentor a high-functioning team (analysts, BI devs, data engineers) with clear roles, priorities, and growth paths.
  • Be the business translator. Sit with product, sales, and BU leaders to frame ambiguous questions into crisp hypotheses, success metrics, and thin-slice deliverables.
  • Ship fast, then harden. Drive rapid turnarounds—prototype in days, productionize what works; cut what doesn’t.
  • Own operations. Define SLAs/SLOs, runbooks, incident response, and release cadence for pipelines, dashboards, and data apps.
  • Raise data quality. Stand up contracts, validation tests, and monitoring to keep Snowflake/Hive/Athena/Databricks pipelines healthy and trustworthy.
  • Automate wisely. Prioritize ETL/ELT and workflow automation (Python, Airflow, Glue) to remove toil and shorten idea-to-impact cycles.
  • Standardize & simplify. Land opinionated schemas, naming, and interface conventions so teams can build once and reuse everywhere.
  • Tell the story. Represent the team in exec reviews, roadshows, and demos; showcase outcomes, not just outputs, and elevate the team’s profile.
  • Continuously improve. Spot process bottlenecks, propose changes, and measure the before/after.

Preferred Skills

  • Leadership: 7–10+ years across analytics/BI/operations with 3–5+ years leading teams or programs.
  • Data platforms: Comfort working with big data in Snowflake, Hive/Presto, Athena, Databricks (or equivalents).
  • ETL/automation: Python, Airflow (or Prefect), AWS Glue (or similar), CI/CD for data.
  • BI & metrics: Designing executive/operational dashboards (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI); metric governance and documentation.
  • SQL expertise: Advanced queries, performance tuning, troubleshooting at scale.
  • Process & change: Standing up intake/prioritization, SLAs, runbooks; driving cross-functional adoption.
  • Communication: Executive-ready storytelling; sharp clarifying questions; strong written docs.
  • Mindset: Pragmatic, curious, low-ego; comfortable choosing the highest-leverage mix of high-tech and low-tech to meet a deadline.

This is a hybrid role based in NYC.

Benefits & Perks

  • Unlimited PTO
  • Excellent medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Employee Equity
  • Employee Discounts, Virtual Wellness Classes, and Pet Insurance And more!!

Compensation Range
