This Part-Time Research Assistant 2 position is based in Prof. Songrui Zhao’s research lab in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

The research project focuses on semiconducting Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).

Job Description:

• Using focus ion beam (FIB) to prepare semiconducting transmission electron microscopy (TEM) specimen.
• Investigating selective area electron diffraction of semiconducting TEM specimen.
• Studying semiconducting TEM specimen using dark-field and bright-field TEM and scanning TEM (STEM).
• Writing research reports and scientific journals as well as preparing conference presentation documents.

Qualification:

• Master’s degree in STEM
• Extremely skillful in using FIB to prepare TEM specimen and carrying out crystalline specimen analysis using electron microscopies.
• Extremely familiar with diffraction pattern analysis, crystal planes, directions, and structural defects using TEM and STEM.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
