With Securities-Based Lending, our private banking clients take out a loan with their securities portfolio as collateral. For our clients, these are the cheapest and most flexible loans, although they can be tricky as they leverage the portfolio which means that any up- or down turn is amplified. While ING has a high commercial ambition for Securities-Based Lending, in the Dutch market they face strong competition and show rapid technological developments.

Your role and responsibilities

As Business control specialist, it is your responsibility together with the Securities-Based Lending team to ensure that business risks are under control. This means that you pro-actively are in control of het full end-to-end risk process, from identification to management of the risks to mitigation. You ensure that that the non-financial risks are within the risk appetite of the business and that they are identified with a transparent methodology. You will cooperate with the other members of the Securities-Based Lending team, who are diverse, motivated and each with a different expertise. You report hierarchically to the PBWM Securities-Based Lending Product Lead.

The following activities will be core to your work

• You contribute to the Securities-Based Lending business risk and control functions to ensure that our activities are in line with regulatory requirements and run smoothly in such a way that it can be demonstrated to the regulators and the outside world.
• You contribute to the integrity of the Securities-Based Lending products, services, employees and compliance with respect to the outside world.
• You are the single point of contact within Securities-Based Lending in the area of non-financial risk.
• You have a central role in internal/external audits and reviews
• You perform first line risk management within the Securities-Based Lending product team, such as ERM, Gatekeeper with PARP-projects, risk assessments (e.g. PBRA, RCSA, BIA etc.), product reviews, Key Control Testing, incident management, facilitate and challenge In Control Statements, GDPR/Privacy en KYC.
• You ensure (continuous) evaluation of the risk & control log, provide a monitoring plan (in line with methodology) and ensure timely control evaluations
• You actively contribute to the building of the SBO function in the Securities-Based Lending product team to realise a uniform, effective and efficient way of working in the area of risk management.
• You are the risk culture ambassador within your tribe, conveying a Risk mindset and conducting applicable interventions and awareness training.
• You give advice to internal stakeholder and are the contact person for 2nd Line of defence  (Compliance, ORM).

Requirements

• 3 - 6 years experience within a business control office environment
• University or master’s degree;
• 3+ years of banking experience; private banking experience is a pro
