We are looking for an Assistant Director of Housekeeping who will manage the staff and will control the daily activities of the Housekeeping Department assuring that our Guest Rooms, Public Areas and Employee Areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness. This position will support the goals of the Director of Housekeeping. Following budgetary guidelines for scheduling, staffing and supplies. This position will demonstrate analytical skills, prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation. You will be a role model for the Four Seasons’ culture, demonstrate a solid work ethic, good business acumen and a passion for service.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manages the staff of the Housekeeping Department, demonstrating the best practices of leadership. Participates in interviewing and selection, evaluations and coaching, training and corrective action.
- Manages the daily operation including work distribution, Perfect Room Program, conducting room inspections (VIP, special attention, etc.), following up on special requests, and overseeing projects. Completes weekly schedule and monitors daily assignments to assure that productivity and quality standards are being met, staff is being supported and guest needs are being met.
- Resolves customer complaints, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible. Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner. Coordinates the housekeeping needs of any Residence owners.
- Oversees and monitors the quality and productivity of external companies such as the laundry and dry cleaning Company, the overnight cleaning company and the window cleaning company.
- Conducts weekly inspections with the Hotel Manager, Director of Rooms, Director of Housekeeping, Director of Engineering and the Overnight Cleaning company in Front and Back of House areas as well as Guestrooms. Ensures proper follow up to identified issues.
- Monitors and controls labor expense and other divisional expenses such as Guest Supplies, Cleaning Supplies and Contract Services. Ensures accuracy for Linen, Uniform and Supplies Inventories.
- Assists in the preparation of the annual budget for labor and operating expense and for items to be included in the annual Capital Plan.
- Assures that safe working practices are frequently reviewed, chemicals are used as directed and properly stored and equipment is in good working condition and regularly maintained.
- Takes action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and well-being of hotel guests and employees. Respond swiftly and effectively in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
- Complies with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
- Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications And Skills:
- Education: College degree preferred
- Experience: 2-years of experience in a supervisory position in housekeeping
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate a computer, read and write in English
- No. of employees supervised: 10-40
- Travel required: None
- Hours required: Ten-hour shift; scheduled days and times may vary based on need.

Authorization to work in the United States is required unless the candidate is currently in a managerial role with another Four Seasons location. Current Four Seasons managers may qualify for an L-1 visa sponsorship.
