Lead Analyst – CMAS Firewall & Network Operations
 

Position Summary:

Conducts proactive reviews of firewall policy changes to ensure both internal policies and best security practices are adhered to.  This individual will be working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to identify, remediate and bring closure to all potential security related threats.  The focus of the work is to continue to enhance the security posture of our inbound and outbound firewall traffic.  This is a position with visibility to the highest levels of Evernorth management who are driven to see our efforts succeed.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Identify and assess levels of risk in accordance with policies and standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Provide guidance on firewall policy change requests and zoning, including potential workarounds to meet business needs in a secure manner.
• Assist in drafting and editing firewall related standards, policies, and guidelines.
• Work with cross-functional departments to research and resolve firewall related issues.
• Participate in the execution of regulatory and contractual compliance audits.
• Provide timely communication to leadership when escalation is needed

Experience Required:

• 5 - 8 years of security experience with minimum 2+ years focused on network security.
• Background in security operations and security systems management
• Thorough understanding of networking concepts such as routing, switching, firewall, TCP/IP, and internet protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS and TLS.
• Understanding of information security policy enforcement, network segmentation, core security controls, various architecture models, and risks associated with a complex and dynamic network environment.
• Experience decomposing and balancing technical security and business demands.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to document and explain technical details in a concise, understandable manner for non-technical individuals.
• Ability to manage and balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Exposure to Cloud Environments (AWS, OpenShift)
• Knowledge of Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Algosec, and other firewall management platforms
• Experience executing audited processes in a customer service centric environment.
• Experience responding directly to internal and/or external auditors.
• Experience communicating with customers and stakeholders to offer guidance on process and best security practices.
• College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.
