About The Ray Marshall Center

The Ray Marshall Center for the Study of Human Resources at the LBJ School of Public Affairs conducts applied research, evaluation, and policy analysis on education, workforce, and human development challenges. A key initiative of the Center is the Employment Outcomes Support (EOS) Project, which provides Texas community colleges with access to employment outcomes data, local labor market insights, and the expertise needed to use these data to improve student success and align programs with workforce needs.

Purpose

The Ray Marshall Center seeks a highly motivated professional to support the Director and Center staff in advancing the EOS Project. This role combines communications coordination with project management, ensuring that community college partners and stakeholders are engaged, informed, and supported throughout all phases of project work, facilitating smooth operations across multiple institutions, and ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Communication Support:

  • Schedule meetings and events with community colleges and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular communication with community college staff, the Director, RMC staff, and partners.
  • Draft and distribute newsletters, email updates, and other communications for community college stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update contact lists for participating colleges.
  • In collaboration with the Director, prepare materials for webinars, presentations, and convenings.
  • Take detailed notes during meetings with community colleges and track identified needs, working with the Director to ensure appropriate processes and follow-up actions are in place.

Project Management Support:

  • Coordinate internal and external deadlines across RMC staff, community colleges, and stakeholders.
  • Support all aspects of EOS Project work, including: Webinars and presentations; Contract signatures and renewals; Data requests, cleaning, and processing; Preliminary and final analyses; Reporting requirements.
  • Track progress and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Support internal documentation and recordkeeping to ensure compliance with UT policies and funder requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public affairs, communications, education, social sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in communications, project coordination, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual meeting tools (Zoom, Teams, etc.).

*Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within or with community colleges in Texas.
  • Familiarity with workforce development, higher education, or applied research environments.
  • Experience preparing professional communication products (e.g., newsletters, presentations, event materials).

Salary Range

$60,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions
