The Personal Services Project Delivery Office manages investments of over half a billion dollars annually in projects and programs that have a direct impact on Desjardins members and clients. As Project Lead, you support the project owner and coordinate a team for a major project in a highly complex payment modernization program that includes multiple multidisciplinary business and IT teams with a view to achieving the expected benefits within the roadmap’s established milestones and deadlines. This position will report to the Program Manager, under a matrix structure, and in administrative terms, to the Manager, Personal Services Project Management Department under the Project Management Office and IT Governance and Risk Division. You draw on your ability to drive results and engage others to effectively manage teams and help the organization meet its objectives. You lead, influence and serve as an expert for teams, senior management and decision-making bodies. You represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins and enter the organization into agreements with external providers. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Work with contribution managers to lead deliverables, ensuring business objectives are met, benefits are delivered and budgets and timelines are respected
- Ensure availability of the material, human and financial resources required to meet the agreed-upon business objectives
- Manage, monitor and communicate the project roadmap and budget
- Define and promote governance
- Identify and address project issues and risks
- Lead project-specific reporting and progress updates for project owners and other decision-making bodies
- Help manage internal and external suppliers

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of eight years of relevant experience managing complex integration projects
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience working for a large organization with a complex structure and a highly political environment
- Experience in the financial industry, especially in payments
- Payments Canada professional certification and PMP project management accreditation
- Knowledge of French is required
- Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
- Expertise in delivering multiple large-scale projects
- Proficiency in regulatory issues and data protection
- Advanced proficiency in Jira and Confluence
- Advanced proficiency in project management methodologies (agile, hybrid and waterfall)
- Extensive knowledge of IT fields
