PA, Remote Switchboard

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Answer and route incoming calls to appropriate hospital departments, staff, and patient rooms.

• Provide information to callers regarding hospital services, visiting hours, and general inquiries.

• Page and relay messages to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff as needed.

• Maintain accurate records of calls, pages, and messages using hospital software.

• Provide compassionate and professional assistance to patients and their families.

• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and hospital policies to ensure confidentiality and compliance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.

• Proficiency in using telephone systems, paging software, and computer applications.

• Ability to handle high call volumes while maintaining professionalism and efficiency.

• Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures is a plus.

• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
