You will need to live within commuting distance to our Portage, Michigan office. You will need to be in the office 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) and can work from home on other days.

What You Will Do

  • Design, develop, and verify components and modules for medical devices under minimal supervision. 
  • Translate design inputs into engineering specifications and subsystem-level designs. 
  • Prototype and analyze design solutions to validate concepts and performance. 
  • Identify and resolve complex technical challenges using data-driven analysis, resulting in improved processes and outcomes. 
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files, in compliance with regulatory standards. 
  • Ensure alignment with quality management systems and applicable regulations. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Marketing teams to ensure project success. 
  • Prioritize tasks and manage workload independently to meet project milestones. 

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, or related field). 
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience. 
  • Proficiency in creating engineering drawings and models using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools. 
  • Working knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the medical device industry or regulated environments. 
  • Familiarity with design controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Understanding of clinical procedures and product use. 
  • Experience applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and using Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
