The Project Management Office plays a critical role in business separation and integration. The PMO Leader is responsible for establishing and managing governance for complex M&A integrations and carve-out programs. This role ensures disciplined execution through robust planning, cross-functional coordination, risk management, and management level reporting. The ideal candidate brings deep program management expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to drive accountability across diverse teams in high-stakes environments.
As a PMO Leader, you will be responsible for:
- Lead strategic transformation initiatives with measurable impact across the organization.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and execution excellence through robust project governance.
- Champion agile methodologies and continuous improvement to accelerate delivery and value realization.
Program Governance
- Define and implement governance structures for M&A and/or carve-out programs, including decision rights, escalation paths, and cadence.
- Facilitate steering committee meetings and executive reviews.
- Develop and maintain integrated program plans, timelines, and budgets across all workstreams.
- Track milestones, deliverables, and financials to ensure on-time and on-budget execution.
- Adjust plans dynamically based on evolving deal scope or business priorities.
- Lead coordination across functional teams (e.g., HR, IT, Finance, Legal, Operations).
- Ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and interdependencies.
- Drive accountability and resolve cross-functional issues proactively.
- Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
Planning & Budgeting
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Identify, assess, and track program risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Facilitate mitigation planning and resolution strategies.
- Maintain a centralized risk register and ensure visibility across stakeholders.
Executive Reporting & Dashboards
- Deliver high-impact executive dashboards and status reports summarizing progress, risks, and decisions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
- Ensure reporting is timely, accurate, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
Fuel Your Passion
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven track record of leading PMO functions with strategic influence.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Project Management, or related field; MBA or PMP preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in program management.
- Experience in M&A, integration or separation roles.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale, cross-functional programs.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle, governance, and change management.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Power BI).
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
