About The Role

The Regional Facilities Manager is responsible for the operational management and tactical direction of facilities services and building management within the Amec region. This role ensures that workplaces are safe, efficient, and cost-effective, in alignment with organizational objectives and legal requirements. The position involves close collaboration with the Global Facilities Director and requires regular interaction across different countries or regions.

The Regional Facilities Manager plays a key role in driving strategic initiatives, maintaining compliance, and supporting both internal and external customer needs through effective facilities management practices.

This role involves managing both internal and external customer needs while supporting operational commitments and maintaining cost-effective facilities management practices. It also requires flexibility to adapt to varying internal customer requirements and includes leading multiple facilities, managing budgets, and driving initiatives that enhance sustainability and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Facility Maintenance and Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of all facilities, ensuring they are well-maintained, clean, and safe by coordinating maintenance activities, including regular inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance of building systems and developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to ensure smooth facility operations.
  • Strategic Planning:Develop and implement facility management policies for the region and Identify and drive improvements related to sustainability, cost control, and operational efficiency.
  • Budget Management: Develop, manage, and monitor the regional facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to financial goals. Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement measures to reduce operational costs.
  • Risk Management and Compliance:Ensure facilities comply with all relevant local and regional laws and regulations. Conduct risk analyses and develop action plans for emergency situations Conduct inspections and audits to maintain compliance.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management: Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with external vendors and suppliers. Ensure services are delivered according to agreed-upon standards and within budget.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Lead sustainability programs, including energy efficiency projects, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing to minimize the environmental impact.
  • Space Planning and Management: Optimize facility space usage to meet organizational needs. Plan and coordinate office moves, renovations, and refurbishments.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main contact for facility-related matters. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including senior management, department heads and employees, to address concerns and needs.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage facility-related projects (i.e construction and refurbishments)  from conception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to facility operations, maintenance, and projects. Maintain accurate records of all facility operations, including maintenance schedules, incident reports, and regulatory compliance documentation. Provide regular reports to senior management on facility performance and metrics and us performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the facilities team, providing direction, support, and professional development opportunities. Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.

Accountability:

  • Ensures Facility Compliance: Maintains adherence to all relevant local and national regulations related to facility operations, ensuring compliance through regular audits and collaboration with leadership.
  • Drives Operational Goals: Independently manages and executes strategies to achieve operational efficiency, cost control, and facility performance goals.
  • Leads Facility Improvement Initiatives: Oversees and drives facility enhancement projects, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors to implement upgrades and innovations that align with organizational objectives.

What you will bring to the role

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in facilities management (e.g. CFM) is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role. Preferably in a corporate and or High tech environment.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional language skills (e.g., French or Spanish) are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in facilities management software and Microsoft Office

Working Conditions:

  • The role involves managing facilities across the assigned region with regular visits to sites
  • Primarily office-based with occasional travel to various locations.
  • 40 hours per week, with occasional evening or weekend work for emergencies or project oversight
