Howden World Programme: Communications & Engagement Manager
Job Summary
Today there are numerous ways of working across our many businesses, countries, and 22,000 colleagues. Howden World is a new initiative that looks to harmonise these ways of working and unite our colleagues around the world. This programme will transform how we work and collaborate. As such, current ways of working will need mapping to the new technologies and proposed ways of working.
We are therefore in need of a proactive individual to assist in the deployment and adoption of Howden World across our organisation. We are looking for a skilled communicator who can support our business on the journey, identifying how their existing ways of working would map and translate into the new world, and leverage the new tools at their disposal to deliver efficiencies and added value.
This role will work closely as part of our change and communications team to support the rollout of our new internal communication platform to over 20,000+ colleagues across our global business. This role will support project coordination, user engagement and training, to ensure a seamless rollout and positive user experience.
This role is initially a 3-month fixed term contract, reporting within the Change Team working closely with our Programme Team, Group and Regional Communication functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Support: Working as part of the programme team in coordinating rollout activities, timelines, and stakeholder communications.
- Local Business Support: Being an interface between the programme team and comms team, working with local business leads and comms teams to assess current channels used and existing ways of working, and support them with mapping and adapting to the new channels and ways of working. A key aspect of this role will be supporting the business to understand the value of the new platform and how this can support their day to day marketing and business development activities and enable cross selling opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Group Communications team to disseminate templates and change communications to support the local launch of Howden World.
- Communication Delivery and Content Management: You will be someone who can support and input into strategy as well as be able to roll up your sleeves and support with the development of materials to help people understand and adopt the change. This will include developing content, writing emails, working with our video production specialists, and supporting tactical communication materials as needed.
- Content Management: Help manage and update content within the Howden World SharePoint platform.
Skills And Experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools, especially Teams and SharePoint, and experience with social platforms such as Viva Engage.
- Highly skilled at creating communications that convey information clearly and succinctly to diverse audiences with varied backgrounds and languages.
- Excellent copywriting skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proven experience of working with a wide variety of stakeholders, including senior leaders, technical subject matter experts, and colleagues outside the UK.
- The drive and desire to showcase their communication skills in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
- The ability to build relationships and empathy with people at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to create engaging communication materials.

In addition to being able to demonstrate that you have the above mentioned skills needed to perform the role, we are looking for someone with:
