Job Summary
The sky is no longer the limit as Nidec takes its technology off the ground and into the Aerospace market. As Sr Service and Support Engineer supporting the aftermarket service portfolio, which includes the MRO, the Technical Support channel and training at Nidec Aerospace team, you will have the opportunity to apply and develop your expertise to design the top-notch Aftermarket business organization.Nidec is the world’s leading electric motor manufacturer and a true pioneer in electrification across a wide array of industries since its foundation in 1973, ranging from appliance and energy infrastructure, to ground transportation. Job Description
Nidec Aerospace is seeking an experienced Engineer to help build and grow our Service and Support organization for electric propulsion systems. This role focuses primarily on Business Development within the Aftermarket Services domain, with responsibilities spanning strategy, customer engagement, and operational optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead portfolio business development for Service and Support strategy.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to address customer aftermarket needs during the bidding process.
- Forecast MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) demand based on product performance and maintainability, emphasizing economic benefits for end customers.
- Work closely with Technical Support, CRM, and MRO teams to optimize maintenance costs and ensure efficient service operations.
- Develop marketing intelligence processes to identify and capture aftermarket business opportunities.
- Partner with Engineering to define optimal aftermarket support strategies for various product topologies.
- Optimize support and maintenance strategies to extend engine service life and improve cost efficiency across the product lifecycle.
- Design and implement governance for key service metrics throughout the product development cycle.
- Establish processes for implementing Service Bulletins and Retrofit Campaigns.
- Develop innovative support and service solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the Advanced Air Mobility market.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Aeronautical, Production, or related field).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Aftermarket Technical Support within the aerospace industry.
- Strong expertise in Aerospace Aftermarket economics and business acumen in aviation.
- Proven ability in strategy development, process design, and organizational implementation.
- Deep understanding of operational processes across the value chain.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Master’s degree in Marketing or Finance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Technical Support and Business Development.
- Fluency in English; Portuguese is a plus.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Skilled in Power BI and quick to learn new tools and software.
- Capable of providing timely technical responses to internal and external stakeholders.
