Librarian Information Specialist

Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a full-time opening for the position of Librarian Information Specialist – P11557 with Library Services.

What You’ll Do
The Librarian Information Specialist is responsible for cataloging physical and digital materials, maintaining accurate records in statewide and national databases, and supporting the customization and implementation of the Integrated Library System.  This role involves original and copy cataloging, managing authority files, resolving data issues, and recommending improvements to workflows, policies, and technologies. The specialist collaborates with faculty to integrate information literacy into the curriculum and uses data analytics and library systems to enhance discovery, improve services, and support informed decision-making.

• Who We’re Looking For
• We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:
• A Master’s degree in library and information studies or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
• One year of experience related to customer service and library experience is preferred.
• Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate strong technology skills related to libraries and higher education. Proficiency with emerging technologies is also preferred, particularly experience applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in library settings.
