OPS Lab Assistant Opportunity

Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a part-time opportunity for the position of OPS Lab Assistant with the Science Lab. We are seeking a dedicated professional who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant workplace community.

• What You’ll Do
• As OPS Lab Assistant, the day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Under the supervision of the Science Laboratory Manager, and along with other members of the science lab team, you will set up and dismantle freshman and sophomore labs in the following disciplines – Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Earth Science, Microbiology, and Anatomy and Physiology.
• This may include moving and setting up equipment, making solutions, culturing bacteria, cleaning glassware etc. in accordance with our lab manuals and safe laboratory practice. Previous lab experience preferred (e.g. successful completion of a lab class, or prior work in a lab), but not necessary. Training and supervision are provided.

Work Schedule: Up to 25 hours per week.

• Graduation from a standard high school or equivalency diploma
• Previous lab experience preferred (e.g. successful completion of a lab class, or prior work in a lab), but not necessary.
