A Day In The Life

Medtronic is hiring a Senior Internal Supplier Quality Engineer responsible for overseeing the management of internal supplier issues to ensure product quality and compliance. Your key duties include utilizing TrackWise to track, document, and resolve non-conformances (NCs) and action requests originating from suppliers. You lead regular performance review meetings with internal suppliers, providing updates and facilitating effective issue follow-up.

Coordination of containment execution for all supplier-related NCs is central to your role, ensuring timely and effective response to quality concerns. You serve as the liaison between SMO and internal suppliers, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Commit to improving quality performance and increase the performance of the suppliers.
  • Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
  • Design and specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment, conducts quality assurance tests, and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
  • Specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Required knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree with engineering background
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a highly regulated environment, tied to quality improvement and supplier performance management, aimed at proactively identifying, investigating, and resolving internal supplier quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience in Containment Coordination tied to the organization and execution of containment actions for all supplier-related non-conformances, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
  • Experience in data analysis, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement tied to process optimization and product quality assurance.
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Excellent communication skills aimed at clear reporting, escalation, and negotiation with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Experience in collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, and supplier teams to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
