The Job
As a member of the Finance Team, you will be interacting with all our clients, and all departments within the business to ensure that all our settlements are reconciled and paid in a timely fashion. You will understand that no 2 clients are the same and that different approaches are needed to resolve the many issues that will arise.
We are not looking for just ‘a numbers person’, but someone who can work on their own to resolve issues as they arise. The role will be varied and involve working with a range of internal and external data sets, as well as building relationships with stakeholders internally and externally. The individual will be working with a variety of systems and be able to use any and all means to get to the right numbers.
The ideal candidate is reliable, efficient, understands the workings in a Finance Dept, and thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment. Knowledge or passion of the music/entertainment industry is a must.
What You Will Be Doing
Client Settlements
- Gain an in depth understanding and knowledge of Client deals
- Weekly preparation and review of client settlement statements to strict deadlines
- Reconciling differences between settlement system and finance system
- Maintain required documentation in support of client settlement statements
- Process promoter payments and advances
- Liaising with clients and maintaining strong relationships by resolving queries promptly
- Weekly processing of adjustments against settled events
- Monitor client creditor reports and follow up older items for closure
- Reconciling and processing daily sales data from the primary ticketing system to our accounting system
- Other ad-hoc duties in support of client settlement team
Management Accounts and Other
- Preparation of monthly account postings to assist client accountant
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly journals and reports as requested within prescribed deadlines
- Monthly reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts as requested
- Assist with the internal and external statutory audit process
- Other ad-hoc projects and duties as required
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)
- Previous experience working in a finance department
- Experience of working in a multi-division and international company preferred
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, with a particular emphasis on Excel
- Great teammate with strong communication and social skills
- Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to identify and prevent potential problems, as well as challenge and improve existing processes
- Strong attention to detail and knowledge of accounting basics
- Highly motivated and dynamic – ability to work to deadlines and achieve targets in a time-conscious manner
- Professional appearance and attitude
