Description
The CIC Syndication Fund Manager will lead the ongoing management of a portfolio of closed Syndicated Tax Credit Funds. Each fund is a limited liability company that is managed by Huntington Community Development Corporation for the benefit of third-party corporate investors who are co-invested with Huntington.
The CIC Fund Manager will have the following primary duties:
- Assist with potential new Syndicated Tax Credit Funds by assisting with preparing diligence materials and other related activities. Direct interactions with new and existing investors are likely.
- Maintain relationships with third-party investors and support ongoing communication regarding the performance of closed Syndicated Funds. Respond to investor requests and proactively reach out to investors regarding fund performance and reporting.
- Work with internal accounting to maintain the books and records of the closed Syndicated Funds. Ensure that the financial statements for the funds are being properly updated. Work with internal accounting to manage the cash activity flowing through the funds.
- Work with Asset Managers to monitor the performance of syndicated LIHTC transactions included in each fund. When modifications are requested or necessary for LIHTC transactions, communicate to investors regarding the modification request and seek consent where appropriate.
- Work with internal accounting to monitor the annual tax returns received from LIHTC transactions to ensure tax benefit delivery to investors consistent with fund projections. Work with Asset Managers and outside accountants to address variances in expected performance.
- Prepare and provide annual and quarterly reporting to investors regarding the performance of the funds. Annual reporting includes audited financial statements, tax returns, and an updated benefit schedule, prepared with assistance from internal accounting. Quarterly reporting includes property performance information as well as an updated benefit schedule. Coordinate with outside accounting firms regarding the preparation of the annual audit and tax return.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
- 3+ years of prior finance or accounting experience.
- 5+ years of accounting experience or similar work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Substantive exposure to LIHTC. Ideal candidate will have strong LIHTC experience.
- 5+ years of portfolio management experience preferred.
- Strong Excel modeling with emphasis on financial analysis.
- 5+ years of tax credit syndication knowledge preferred and knowledge of partnership tax return review.
Exempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) (No = eligible for overtime pay)
