The Senior Director of Preconstruction leads the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of all preconstruction services for capital projects across the healthcare system. This role serves as the system-wide subject matter expert in preconstruction, providing leadership in budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and design coordination. The Senior Director plays a critical role in the early phases of project development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, clinical operations, and long-term facility planning.Job Duties:
- Serve as the system authority on preconstruction services, including budgeting, bidding, scheduling, design and contractor selection, lean contracting, and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
- Lead the development and implementation of preconstruction strategies for Master Facility Plan (MFP) projects and other major capital initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional Project Delivery teams and clinical leadership to align preconstruction deliverables with operational and strategic priorities.
- Oversee the development and validation of project scopes, budgets, and schedules during the preconstruction phase.
- Manage the change control process to ensure scope alignment and adherence to governance protocols.
- Provide executive-level reporting and strategic updates to AVP, regional leadership, and administrative stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers and preconstruction professionals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support staff development through training, coaching, and performance management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients, executive stakeholders, and external partners.
- Facilitate clear, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Represent the organization in key negotiations with consultants, contractors, and design partners.
- Ensure the use of current and accurate cost data in all budgeting efforts.
- Monitor project performance metrics and proactively address risks to schedule, budget, or scope.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of system-wide project management policies, procedures, and tools.

Position Details:
*Relevant experience may be a combination of related work experience and degree obtained (Associate’s Degree = 2 years; Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years).
Pmp Certification Preferred.
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required), Bachelor's Degree- (Preferred)Experience:
