Subject Matter Expert – SAP MM & Ariba (m/f/d)

About The Role

As Subject Matter Expert – SAP MM & Ariba, you design and implement SAP-based procurement solutions, ensuring end-to-end process excellence in Source-to-Pay.

You will act as a global expert in Materials Management (MM) and SAP Ariba, driving system rollouts, integration, and optimization in a regulated environment. Working closely with business stakeholders, IT, and suppliers, you will ensure compliance, efficiency, and innovation across global procurement processes.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and implement SAP MM and Ariba solutions to optimize procurement operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SAP MM and Ariba with Finance and other SAP modules such as SD
• Manage global rollouts of SAP MM and Ariba, ensuring compliance with local and international logistics and trade regulations
• Lead validation efforts for processes involving inventory and supplier engagements, especially in pharmaceutical contexts
• Oversee and support technical implementation of procurement portals and supplier interfaces
• Identify, propose, and implement system improvements to streamline Source-to-Pay workflows
• Contribute expertise to large transformation programs, with potential long-term assignments in global rollouts

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of process knowledge with a focus on Source-to-Pay
• Expert knowledge in SAP MM (ERP ECC and especially S/4HANA) and SAP Ariba
• General understanding of Finance processes within Source-to-Pay
• Strong general knowledge of SAP ERP and hands-on experience with Microsoft Office tools
• Familiarity with Service Management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
• Proven experience in global project environments
• Strong intercultural awareness and experience in working with global teams and suppliers in matrix organizations
• Proactive and structured mindset with the ability to prioritize across multiple projects
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Fluent in English, spoken and written
