About The Role

We are looking for an experienced support worker with a background in working with people who have a learning disability, autism or experience in supporting people with behaviours that challenge. *Tom is a 58-year-old man living in his own house in Wargrave. Tom has autism and learning disabilities which means that he sometimes finds it difficult to communicate to others what he wants and needs. This can cause Tom to become anxious and at these times he needs people around him who will reassure him and make him feel safe. Tom would like his team members to be confident around him but with a calm approach.

Tom would like someone who will sing to him (it doesn't have to be well!), support him on long walks in the fresh air and people who will give him a hug if he asks for one. Tom really enjoys listening to classical music, baking cakes and biscuits, and loves watching David Attenborough documentaries. Tom needs his team to enable and empower him in different areas in his life, from encouraging and supporting him to make a sandwich to supporting him to develop skills in his personal care and maintaining a healthy and balanced diet. If you think that you could support Tom to have the life he wants, please let us know!
