Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) combines the elasticity and utility of public cloud with the granular control, security, and predictability of on-premises infrastructure to deliver high-performance, high availability and cost-effective infrastructure services. Multiple compute options provide the flexibility to run the most demanding workloads, as well as less compute-intensive applications, in a secure and highly available cloud environment. Customers can self-service provision virtual machines right alongside bare metal servers and clusters on the same virtual cloud networks, through a unified web console, APIs, CLI or via industry-standard tools such as Terraform and Chef. OCI's approach gives the customer choices for storage us industry-leading local NVME storage or elastic network block storage.
OCI is investing in empowering customers to run Kubernetes workloads on OCI infrastructure. These investments will give customers maximum configurability of their Kubernetes clusters while taking advantage of OCI's performant infrastructure with best in industry cost advantages. To ensure these customers are successful, we are hiring a software engineering manager responsible for the day to day activities of the first team being built to serve these customers. In this position, you will be part of a diverse and talented team that is solving difficult problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services. - Collaboration – This is a core competency to the position as you will be working with not just members on the team, but across multiple service teams and time zones to effectively deliver compelling solutions.
- Technical Excellence – In addition to familiarity and experience with distributed systems, Containers/Kubernetes and service operations, demonstrating a passion for technology and curiosityto go deep and quickly learn from experiences is a great asset to have in this role. The ability to troubleshoot problems outside of your immediate domain and work to drive to solutions is a key element of success.
- Drive for success – Being able to drive problems beyond your boundary of responsibility and following through on a problem to solve it the right way
- Provide leadership to drive technical decisions and contribute to the direction and strategy of the team
- Establish and develop best practices for the team and help adopt relevant technologies, tools, and methods
- Plan and schedule software of service features with a high bar on quality and operational excellence
- Work with geographically distributed teams and help define processes to ensure that the entire team stays productive
- Work with partner teams to integrate with other OCI services and help develop intuitive end-to-end user experiences
- Build and run a team of 5-8 talented engineers
- Identify, recruit and retain strong engineering talent

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $109,200 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
