About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi
Our Legal, Privacy and Ethics team are focused on having the highest standards of care in personal information and privacy practice; it's important to our customers and to us. Our team works hard to support ACC’s intention to improve the way we protect personal information and to continuously grow and maintain a proactive privacy culture. We look for opportunities to improve systems and processes to manage risk and work to ensure privacy is embedded across the business.
As our new Advisor, Privacy & Ethics, you’ll have the opportunity to work across a range of activities, from investigating privacy complaints to analysing issues, providing solutions, and working with the business to provide support and advice and ensure adequate understanding and training in the Privacy Act and principles. You’ll be helping ACC take a ‘privacy by design’ approach and will support a range of privacy assurance activities. Best of all, you’ll be part of a team with strong leadership that wants to truly make a difference in how ACC approaches and maintains its privacy performance.
This is a temporary role until September 2026, based in Wellington or Auckland.
The base salary range is $73,196 - $103,336 with appointment within the range depending on skills and experience and internal relativities. ACC also offers 9% superannuation on top of base salary.

What We Are Looking For:
- A relevant tertiary qualification, such as Law, Business Management, or similar.
- Some experience in the recognition and interpretation of privacy and ethical issues in a large, complex environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proven report and business writing experience.
- Self-management including the ability to manage own time, identify priorities and demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment governing ACC’s activities, with a focus on privacy.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
- Ability to work sensitively and impartially in a confidential manner.
- A commitment to providing the highest possible standards of customer service.
