Position Highlights
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Electrophysiology (EP) cardiology team. This unique position offers a hybrid model, with four weeks dedicated to ambulatory clinic care and one week on inpatient service in a rotating schedule. The APP will collaborate closely with EP physicians, cardiology colleagues, nurses, and the broader care team to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
Ambulatory Ep:
- Provide evaluation and management of patients with arrhythmias, device management (pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders), and other EP conditions.
- Conduct follow-up visits, new patient evaluations, stress testing and pre-/post-procedure assessments.
- Manage remote and in-office device interrogations in collaboration with device clinic staff.
- Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and long-term management strategies.
- Collaborate with physicians on treatment plans, medication adjustments, and procedural referrals.
Inpatient Ep/General Cardiology:
- Provide consultative EP care for hospitalized patients.
- Manage inpatient, arrhythmia management, and pre-/post-procedure care.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and daily rounding with the EP in collaboration with the cardiology service.
- Coordinate care with other specialties as needed.
General Duties:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical projects.
- Serve as a clinical resource for nursing and other staff.
- Support outreach and patient access efforts if needed.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in [state].
- National certification (ANCC/AANP for NP or NCCPA for PA).
- Experience in cardiology or electrophysiology strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in both clinic and hospital settings.
Schedule: rotating schedule between staff.
- ambulatory (outpatient clinic)- 4 days a week
- inpatient (hospital service) 5 days a week
- Rotating schedule, full-time, with potential for occasional evening/weekend coverage as needed.
