Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman – Military Internship Program (DoD SKillbridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for Skillbridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
Goals – Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.
Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly-trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission “Defining Possible” on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.
Outcome – Offer transitioning service member a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.
Dod Skillbridge Eligibility:
· Has served at least 180 days on active duty
· Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
· Will receive an honorable discharge
· Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
· Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
· Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.
The Northrop Grumman Ground Subsystem Support Contract (GSSC) has an exciting opportunity on the Codes team. The selected candidate will perform the following key duties and responsibilities:
• What You'll Get to Do:
This position is for an experienced Codes lab technician. The selected candidate will be expected to contribute to MMIII Ground Systems Support Contract (GSSC) Codes equipment maintenance and repair. The selected candidate will also support the Codes travel team performing shielding effectiveness verification testing of NSA certified TEMPEST enclosures at various USAF wing locations.
- Responsibilities May Include:
- • Review of Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (EMI/EMC) test plans and test procedures (EMITP) to meet Data Item Descriptions (DID) requirements
- • Review Qualification & Pre-Qualification EMI Test Plans/Procedures (EMITP)
- • Support EMI/EMC test planning, Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) and test integration support.
- • Perform &/or witness EMI/EMC test execution per MIL-STD-461F/G, and support design mitigation for EUT compliance.
- • Inspection, maintenance and repair of Wing Code Processing Systems (WCPS) at government facilities.
- • Prepare detailed activity reports for WCPS and Shielded Enclosure (SE) related activities.
- • Contribute to the development of CDRL documents per DID requirements.
- • Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirements.
- • Perform data analysis against requirements and interfaces for each Hardware (HW) build and component.
- • Interface with Electrical and Systems engineers in support of maintenance, repair and verification.
- • Support Shielding Effectiveness testing at remote site locations per IEEE-STD-299 & TEMPEST/1-95.
- Basic Qualifications - T02:
- • 2+ years’ experience with Bachelor’s degree or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.
- • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret Clearance.
- • 1+ years’ experience working project requirements to meet schedule timelines
- • Ability to respond to urgent request for field support (ability to travel on short notice)
- • 4+ years’ of experience MM III ICBM Codes system - including a basic familiarity of the broader Air Force Codes organization with codes hardware, software and interfacing systems
- • COMSEC, Cryptology and Nuclear Surety training
- • Must understand Air Force Technical Orders, 252’s, 202’s, Time Compliance Technical Orders and Security Classification/Declassification Guide
- • Ability to understand and work with technical data (e.g. drawings, Source Control Drawings, Fig A’s, and other Weapon System documentation)
- • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
- • Must have a firm grasp of Microsoft Office suite programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat products
Basic Qualifications - T03:
• 5+ years’ experience with Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years' with a Masters, 1+ year with a PhD or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.

• Experience in assessing weapon system failure data, trend analysis and working with broader reliability organizations in assessing subsystem end-of-life analyses
• Experience with participation in Ground Systems Aging Surveillance
