AR Billing Specialist

• Handle all billing and invoices with demonstrated mastery of billing formats, claim forms, web portal billing, and navigation of payer websites.
• Create and submit all claims in a timely and accurate manner.
• Communicate with supervisory staff on any issues regarding claims, including unbillable items.
• Track billing, record and retrieve billing documentation, reconcile issues with payer reports (including 999 and 207 reports), follow up on unbillable items, conduct system testing, and update billing procedures as necessary.
• Create electronic claims and ensure internal control compliance, maintain an effective control environment, and fulfill other audit requirements.
• Actively participate in team meetings and assist with training of new hires.
• Proactively support the objectives and goals of the department, including providing support for special projects.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Two to three years of experience with Medical Billing in a high-volume environment.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis codes, CPT medical service codes, UB-04 forms, and HCFA-1500 forms.
• Strong understanding of medical billing compliance, as well as Medicare, Medicaid, Medicaid managed care, Commercial, Workers Comp, and Auto-no-fault payer types.
• Skillful data analysis, critical thinking, and strong financial acumen.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect information from different sources.
