Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer based in the Philippines to administer and improve our global IT platforms. This role is hands-on and ownership-oriented: supporting enterprise file services, VDI environments, SQL Server instances, and Azure workloads. The Senior Systems Engineer will work closely with Enterprise Architecture to take over solutions once deployed, ensuring they remain reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective. This position requires strong Azure experience, networking knowledge, and the ability to mentor junior engineers as we continue our transition to the cloud.Responsibilities & Qualifications
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize Microsoft Azure services, including IaaS workloads, resource groups, RBAC, networking, storage, policy enforcement, and cost/performance tuning.
- Support and maintain Microsoft SQL Server (patching, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting) in coordination with application teams, not a DBA role.
- Administer enterprise file services (Nasuni) within established standards: permissions, quotas, replication, archiving, and lifecycle management.
- Operate and support VDI infrastructure (Nerdio and Azure Virtual Desktop): image management, FSLogix profiles, GPU/graphics workloads, application packaging, scaling, and user experience optimization.
- Manage Windows Server environments both on-premises and in Azure, ensuring patch compliance, lifecycle management, certificates, and Group Policy.
- Contribute to endpoint management practices via SCCM and Intune, guide others in compliance, and device lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain automation to reduce manual work and enforce standards.
- Support identity and access tasks in Entra ID (Azure AD), including role assignments, conditional access, and SSO integrations, in coordination with Security/Compliance teams.
- Investigate service or performance issues that may involve networking components (DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, connectivity), escalating to Network Engineering as needed.
- Resolve escalated incidents and lead problem management within ITSM (FreshService); ensure CMDB and knowledge articles are accurate.
- Follow change management practices and participate in CAB; deliver clear implementation and rollback plans.
- Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, and runbooks, mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing.
Qualifications Required:
- 8–12+ years of experience in systems engineering with hybrid Microsoft environments (on-premises and Cloud)
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure administration (IaaS, storage, RBAC, governance).
- Solid experience with Windows Server infrastructure and Active Directory/Entra ID.
- Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server (installation, patching, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting).
- Proven experience administering enterprise file services (Nasuni or similar).
- Direct experience with VDI platforms (Nerdio, Azure Virtual Desktop, or similar).
- Practical networking knowledge for troubleshooting service issues (DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, connectivity).
- Scripting/automation proficiency with PowerShell.
- Familiarity with endpoint management (SCCM, Intune).
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (SolarWinds, Azure Monitor, etc.). Experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams).
- Knowledge of the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry and related workflows is a plus.
- Proactive, communicative, and collaborative; able to lead initiatives and mentor peers.
- Strong written and verbal English and ability to collaborate across global teams.
