About the role:
The E-Commerce Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the E-Commerce Manager to execute the digital strategy effectively, ensuring an exceptional online shopping experience for customers. This position is instrumental in driving online sales, optimising website performance, and enhancing customer engagement. Additionally, the specialist contributes to the professional growth of the E-Commerce Coordinator through coaching and development initiatives.
Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Inventory & Product Management
• Collaborate with the E-Commerce Manager and Merchandise Teams: Work together to optimize stock levels, ensuring product availability aligns with sales forecasts and profit objectives.
• Analyse Product and Category Performance: Identify top-performing products and categories, leveraging insights to drive improvements and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, profit, and sell-through rates.
• Support Product Enrichment Processes: Assist the E-Commerce Coordinator in efficiently enriching and uploading product information, ensuring timely and accurate product listings.
• Enhance On-Site Merchandising: Review and improve product presentation on the website to capitalise on sales opportunities and enhance the customer shopping experience.
Marketing & Content Management
• Develop Creative Briefs: Assist in creating and maintaining detailed briefs for the marketing calendar, covering all digital channels and website initiatives.
• Collaborate on Content Creation: Work with the marketing team to develop engaging content across various channels, ensuring consistency and alignment with brand messaging.
• Implement Landing Pages: Design and deploy relevant content and product landing pages to support marketing campaigns and promotions.
Email Marketing & Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Support
• Plan Email Campaigns: Work with the E-Commerce Manager and CRM Manager to develop a comprehensive email marketing plan, incorporating A/B testing strategies to optimise engagement.
• Execute Email Campaigns: Create, build, and schedule email campaigns in line with the marketing calendar, ensuring timely and targeted communications.
• Support Automation Strategies: Assist in the development and implementation of automated and retention-focused email strategies to enhance customer loyalty.
Site User Experience (UX) & Website Maintenance
• Contribute to UX Improvements: Partner with the E-Commerce Manager to identify and implement enhancements that reduce friction points and improve conversion rates.
• Support Testing Processes: Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and development testing to ensure website functionality and performance meet quality standards.
• Optimise Technology Stack: Collaborate in reviewing and refining tools such as review systems, sizing guides, and search functionalities to enhance the overall user experience.
Sales & Analytical Reporting
• Generate Sales Reports: Contribute to the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly e-commerce sales reports, providing relevant commentary and insights using tools like Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Produce Ad-Hoc Reports: Create specialised reports as needed to support decision-making processes and strategic planning.
• Monitor Website Metrics: Analyse key website performance indicators, such as traffic sources and conversion rates, and take appropriate actions based on findings.
Pricing & Promotions Support
• Execute Promotional Activities: Ensure that campaigns, pricing strategies, and promotions are implemented accurately and within established deadlines.
• Manage On-Site Promotions: Oversee the setup and removal of promotional content on the website, maintaining consistency and relevance.
• Align Online and In-Store Promotions: Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure that online promotions are synchronised with in-store activities, providing a cohesive customer experience.
To be successful you will ideally have the following skills:
• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Minimum 1 year’s ecommerce operations coordination, with proven experience using content management systems (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WordPress).
• Preferably footwear retail or wholesale background.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Can-do attitude, hands-on and responsive.
• Able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Highly self-driven with initiative to be hands-on to support wider team.
• Analytical skills experience with Google Analytics (or similar).
• Organised with great communication skills.
• Business degree/diploma preferable.
• MS Office (Intermediate).
