Microbiology - Manager

Overview Of Role:

Alvotech is seeking a QC Microbiology Manager to lead a team of Shift Leads and ensure compliance with cGMP and global standards. This role involves managing daily operations, coordinating projects, and providing technical guidance on microbiological and regulatory topics. The position also requires strong leadership to drive training, documentation, and continuous improvement within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of five Microbiology Shift Leads.
• Receive, plan and distribute work based on feedback related to routine operations, inspections and projects to shift leads
• Manage and distribute work based on priorities
• Support and represent the Microbiology department at designated operational meetings
• Provide training and guidance to analysts on regulatory and microbiological topics.
• Align with Microbiology Principle Specialists and Microbiology Director on the scheduling of project related testing to avoid disruption to routine analysis
• Ensure robust documentation, and compliance with pharmacopoeial standards.
• Coordinate OOE/OOS results with QC compliance department
• Coordinate with QC support team to ensure new equipment is processed in coordination with Principle Specialists
• Provide lab focused support and guidance to direct reports
• Ensure training within the department is up to date to ensure business continuity

Qualifications:

• Education: Minimum 4 - 5 years of experience in QC Microbiology.
• Experience: Detailed knowledge and experience of working to cGMP standards within Biologics/ parenteral manufacturing for aseptically produced drug products.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
