Job Summary
As an Associate in the Corporate Center communications team, you will collaborate with colleagues across India and abroad to develop and execute a multi-faceted communications strategy for Global Technology. You will craft media plans, write public-facing content, and maintain media relationships to secure positive coverage opportunities. Your role will involve supporting public relations campaigns across various media channels and collaborating with the local India Communications team.
Job Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with Media Relations and Communications colleagues globally to support the development and execution of a multi-faceted communications strategy for Global Technology
- Crafting media plans and key messages for our leadership and key spokespeople
- Writing media pitches, press releases, blog posts, and other public-facing content
- Developing and maintaining media lists and relationships with relevant national, trade, and local media, understanding their reach and audience, and determining how to best engage opportunistically throughout the year to secure positive coverage opportunities.
- Supporting holistic public relations campaigns across traditional, social, and digital media and the ongoing related activities and program management, such as news clips monitoring and distribution, briefing documents, press releases, presentations, awards and rankings, measurement, and reporting.
- Collaborate effectively with the local India Communications team and support PR for the corporate centers as needed.
- Identify opportunities to use the firm’s award-winning economics, technology and financial market research with media; brainstorm new topics and themes to create new thought leadership content.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 7+ years of news or media relations experience.
- Ability to identify, tell, and share compelling stories and excellent writing skills.
- Strong executive presence and ability to advise and work with senior management.
- Fluency across social media and other communications channels, with a proven ability to leverage them to protect reputation and promote the brand.
- Excellent judgment and ability to handle sensitive issues, particularly pertaining to media.
- Ability to partner across a large, matrixed organization, with an understanding of how to lead by influence, not control.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to multitask and prioritize high-volume, high-priority initiatives.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability and eagerness to take a creative approach to problem-solving.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience using PowerPoint, Photoshop, and similar communications software
- Strong understanding of the media landscape and existing relationships with national, trade, and local media are preferred.
