About Nexton:

We’re looking for a meticulous and proactive Finance and Accounting Analyst to join Nexton!

This role is centered around maintaining robust financial control, ensuring accurate accounting, and supporting compliance and reporting processes. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, supporting month-end close, and maintaining financial records with precision. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in upholding financial discipline and transparency as we scale.

Responsibilities:

Accounting Operations: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, manage journal entries, and ensure accuracy of financial data across all accounts.
Month-End Close: Support and execute the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee invoicing, collections, payments, and vendor management processes.
Internal Controls: Help implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
Expense Management: Monitor and control company expenses, ensuring alignment with budgets and cost-efficiency.
Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and tax regulations (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS, VAT).
Audit Support: Prepare documentation and support internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and transparency.
Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows, systems, and documentation.
Financial Systems: Collaborate in the management and evolution of our accounting systems and tools to support business needs.
Ad-hoc Reporting: Provide reports and analyses to support leadership with financial insights and decision-making.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles with strong accounting focus.
Solid understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP or IFRS) and financial reporting.
Experience working with US based companies.
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience supporting audits and implementing internal controls.
Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
Advanced English proficiency.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote setup.

Nice to have:

CPA, ACCA, or similar certification (completed or in progress).
Knowledge of crypto accounting or international tax considerations.
Experience in a high-growth startup or tech environment.
Data Analyst skills.
Presentation skills.
