What You Will Be Doing:
Overload Permit Analysis
- Bridge Design & Load Rating
- Analyze overload permit applications under supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer.
- Review analysis results and recommend safe travel routes for overload vehicles (e.g., using ProMiles, OHPS).
- Interpret complex plans to support ODOT policy implementation and reduce risks
- Perform calculations for bridge design and update standard project specifications and plans.
- Conduct load rating analysis for new and existing bridges and culverts.
- Review and verify bridge rating calculations and computer-generated documents.
- Interpret complex plans to support ODOT policy implementation.
- Maintain historical data for bridges and culverts.
- Prepare technical reports on bridge and culvert load ratings.
- Assist in or conduct training sessions and seminars on bridge rating.
- Prepare bridge posting reports as directed.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering; Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.

- This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
- All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one (1) year probationary period.
- Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.
